1960 Drexel Profile end tables/floor speakers
1960 Jensen CN-100 Floor Speakers Designed by John Van Koert, these Drexel speaker cabinets were designed to match the Profile series and sent to Jensen to put in the state of the art sound system for the time period. These cabinets were in pretty rough shape and needed a lot of scrubbing and cleaning with oxalic acid to remove decades of spilled drink stains and cup rings. I refinished the impeccable walnut grain pattern with Mohawk Perfect Brown which blends well with many different mid-century furniture. The original tan with gold flecks speaker grills are in near perfect condition. I added subtle gold trim to cover the few places that were fraying on the sides. The 12" woofers have massive magnets and provide plenty of low end bass. The 6" midrange and horn give perfect vocal clarity and the high end punch to round out an incredible vintage sounding experience with plenty of warmth. The adjustable crossovers and attenuators are fully functional and original. The capacitors all tested good but are easily replacable if you wanted to go that route. Rated at 16ohms, these are perfect speakers to use in conjunction with a Stereo Console for the ultimate mid century modern living room. It is pretty rare to find high quality furniture grade audio components, especially ones in such good condition. I was planning on keeping these in my personal collection for awhile, but I have priced them competitvely with the few sold examples I have found. Adjusted for inflation, the $149 pricetag in 1960 would be equivalent to ~$1600 each. 21w 16.5d 32h
