1957 Grundig-Majestic Stereo Console
1957 Grundig-Majestic Stereo Console/ Credenza This console originally from West Germany came to me in desperate need of a major reconstructive surgery. Besides the plinth legs being severely water damaged and rotted out, the interior was full of rodent carcasses and who knows what else. I completely disassembled the entire cabinet and cleaned and sanitized everything before beginning the process. The cabinet features a sliding door that hides the massive storage area for vinyl records with built in lighting with motion detection and additional upper shelf. Dark navy blue velvet graces the inside of the cabinet for a luxurious feel. The non functional original glass front stereo was retrofitted with LED lighting that gives a perfectly MCM vibe to the piece. The medium walnut toned wood is paired with satin black trim and gold speaker grills that placed atop 4” oblique legs to complete the atomic look of the era. The slide out drawer houses a 90watt Bluetooth capable receiver and an updated turntable with an easily replaceable or upgradable Audio-Technica cartridge. The original German speakers were cleaned, repaired, and given replacement capacitors on the crossovers. This produces an astonishingly warm and room filling sound from such a compact console. 46w 35h 18d Located in Southeast Denver
