1939 Flexible Home Arrangements Birch Dresser by Eliel Saarinen & Pipsan Swanson (Restored)

Fully restored and refinished in satin lacquer, custom tinted to color match the original tone. The birch case sits on a solid mahogany base, and all drawers open and close smoothly. Drawer construction includes solid oak sides and solid mahogany bottoms. The original zinc pulls have a beautiful patina, and have been cleaned and lightly polished. Designed in 1939 by Eliel Saarinen as part of the Flexible Home Arrangements (FHA) collection—one of the first modular furniture lines sold in the U.S. Pieces from this series are rare, especially in restored condition, and are increasingly sought after by collectors of early American modern design.
