Mexican Talavera peacock platter. Truly one-of-a-kind. + Talavera is a tin-enameled earthenware and Majolica pottery that is made in Puebla, Mexico, and its nearby communities of Atlixco, Cholula, and Tecali. This world-renowned hand-painted pottery is crafted from a mixture of only two clays: a dark clay and a light, slightly rose-colored clay. Talavera is shaped by hand using a potter’s wheel or molds, rather than being poured. It is also hand-painted and undergoes two firing processes.
