Mona Ohovelok Inuit graphic art print

Children playing, stone cut 1970s print on paper. Art is 8.5 inches x 5.5 inches. Framed: 12.5 x 9.5 Mona Ohovelok was born in 1935 at Rhymer Point, Nunavut. She was a renowned printmaker, working with lithographs, stone cuts, and stencil prints. Her work was featured in the Holman Prints annual catalogues nearly every year from 1968 to 1991, and was exhibited throughout North America and beyond, including at the National Museum of Man (Ottawa), Amon Carter Museum of Western Art (Fort Worth, Texas), Jerusalem Artist's House Museum, National Gallery of Art (Rome, Italy), Burnaby Art Gallery, Art Space Gallery (Philadelphia), Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Glenbow Museum (Calgary). Permanent collections include Laurentian University Museum (Sudbury), McMichael Canadian Art Collection (Kleinburg), University of Alberta (Edmonton), Winnipeg Art Gallery, Dennis Museum Center (Traverse City, Michigan), Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre (Yellowknife), and many others.
